Curriculum Vitae

George D. Lane, D.P.M., is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He graduated with a B.S. degree from Virginia Tech in 1984, and as Class Valedictorian from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine with a D.P.M. degree in 1997. Dr. Lane then completed intensive three-year surgical training at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital Northern Virginia Podiatric Residency Program. During his final year of training, he had the distinction of being appointed Chief Resident. He also served on a four-month plastic surgery reconstructive foot and ankle fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital, under the guidance of Christopher Attinger, a world-renowned reconstructive foot and ankle plastic surgeon. Dr. Lane is now a Clinical Instructor at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital Podiatric Residency program.

Following surgical residency, he immediately joined Dr. Seth Rubenstein in Reston, Virginia, creating the current partnership called Fox Mill Foot and Ankle Center. The partnering was based on the common philosophy of both doctors to provide the best comprehensive foot and ankle care available.

Since beginning private practice, Dr. Lane has been active in his profession, holding various hospital, as well as podiatric medical society offices. He is currently Podiatry Section Chief under the Department of Orthopedics at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital.

Dr. Lane’s practice includes diabetic foot care, pediatrics, as well as all aspects of conservative and surgical management of the foot and ankle. Dr. Lane is active with the local Northern Virginia running community, caring for professional and nonprofessional athletes. He has always enjoyed running and recently completed three marathons including the prestigious Boston Marathon in 2002.

Dr. Lane was raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Prior to podiatric medical education, he worked as a Construction Engineer.

Dr. Lane is married and is the father of two children. He and his wife enjoy traveling and gardening. They are active members of the Northern Virginia Church of Christ in Oakton, Virginia.
