Seth A. Rubenstein, D.P.M., is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a graduate from the University of Rochester with a BA in biology, and from the California College of Podiatric Medicine with B.M.S. and D.P.M. degrees.
Dr. Rubenstein practices in Reston, Virginia. He is on the active staff of Reston Hospital Center and INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. Within the hospital community, Dr. Rubenstein has served on the operating room committee, surgical case review committee and more recently the credentials committee.
Dr. Rubenstein was raised in North Woodmere, New York on the south shore of Long Island, near New York City. In high school he was an avid runner, and was appointed co-captain of the Cross Country, Winter and Spring Track teams. Dr. Rubenstein's other interests include painting and drawing. Upon graduation from Hewlett High School, he received scholarship awards for achievement in sports as well as fine art. He produced medical illustrations while attending podiatry school to help support the cost of education.
After graduating from the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY) and the California College of Podiatric Medicine (San Francisco, CA), Dr. Rubenstein completed a two-year surgical residency at Peninsula General Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York. He served as chief resident during the second year of residency training.
Upon entering private practice, Dr. Rubenstein became politically active in his profession, serving as president of the Northern Virginia Podiatric Medical Association and later as president of the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association. He is a state representative to the American Podiatric Medical Associations’ annual House of Delegate’s. Dr. Rubenstein is also involved in promoting his profession through legislative avenues. He serves as a Board member of the American Podiatric Medical Association’s Political Action Committee and has received national recognition for this work.
